Solutions for ODX

Vector supports ODX in its diagnostic-related products CANdelaStudio, Indigo, CANape, CANdito, CANoe, CANdelaFlash and CANditoFlash, providing a simple and effective means for handling ODX diagnostic data. . Support in other tools such as CANdesc and CANoe Option DiVa is planned for the year 2008.

Since 2001, Vector has been helping to define the ODX standard in ASAM and ISO working committees. At this time ODX standardization work has not yet been completed, although some automotive OEMs and suppliers are already integrating ODX in their development processes. It is now apparent that in practice the flexibility of the ODX standard will lead to different ODX dialects. Vector will strive to meet the challenge of supporting these ODX dialects in all phases of the diagnostic process.

As is true of ODX standardization itself, integration of ODX in Vector software tools is also not yet complete. Constructive feedback from users is important to us, since we are working towards continuous improvement.

The Open Diagnostic eXchange format (ODX) is an XML-based ASAM standard for describing diagnostically relevant ECU data.
ODX is currently being jointly developed by ASAM and ISO. In the future ODX will also be available as an ISO standard.
Vehicle, ECU and tester manufacturers can use the uniform, OEM-independent ODX format to describe and exchange ECU diagnostic data. ODX was designed to be an open exchange format, and is a good choice for use in joint projects between automotive OEMs.
