Vector's contributions within the AUTOSAR development partnership were honored with the presentation of the AUTOSAR Award to Vector Managing Director Dr. Helmut Schelling.
The AUTOSAR Premium Member Award was bestowed for the first time at the sixth Premium Member Conference of the AUTOSAR development partnership in Stuttgart on 02/27/2008. While a wide range of AUTOSAR development partnership members were present, Dr. Helmut Schelling, Managing Director of Vector Informatik GmbH received the award from Dr. Heinecke, member of the AUTOSAR steering committee. The award recognizes Vector's commitment to its active work on the committee in the area of AUTOSAR standardization. From the start, Vector has been directly involved as a premium member in developing the new standard. By now the company brings 20 years of experience in electronic networking and ECU software in the automobile, to the consortium work. "We see the award as an incentive to continue contributing our expertise to the AUTOSAR development partnership and to work towards achieving standardization in automotive electronics," explains Helmut Schelling after receiving the award. Since November 2007, Vector has been supplying the automotive industry with the complete AUTOSAR basic software according to the current 2.1 release, for use in ECUs that are ready to go into series production. Based on the current release plan for the AUTOSAR 3.0 specification, the automotive industry can expect AUTOSAR basic software and tools from Vector by the 2nd quarter of 2008.
Vector supports AUTOSAR-compliant ECU development with a complete range, including microcontroller abstraction layer, memory management and communication stacks for CAN, LIN and FlexRay, as well as an operating system and RTE. Together with the Vector tool chain for system design, configuration, generation and integration, vehicle manufacturers and suppliers are able to implement AUTOSAR solutions that are tailor-made to their individual requirements.
