1-20. "Hot spots"

Hot spots in CANoe are the points in the Simulation and Measurement setup where a user can insert analysis blocks or function blocks.

Simulation Hot spots

There are two types of hot spots in the Simulation setup window; filters and functions.
Filter hotspots are always connected to the ECU and to the bus, and can only play host to channel filters and stop/pass filters.  Additionally, filter hot spots can be setup as input specific or output specific.  Function hot spots are able to accept new network nodes, test modules, generator blocks and replay blocks.

Measurement Hot spots

Hot spots in the Measurement setup window can also be broken down into two groups; function and analysis.  Function hot spots in the Measurement window take the form of the small blue squares on each branch.  These can be used to insert CAPL nodes, filters, generator blocks, replay blocks and triggers for logging.  The analysis hot spots can be used to insert new analysis windows into the measurement.  Analysis hot spots not only include the vertical bar, but each analysis block as well.
