The CANoe environment is designed for ease of use and customization by the end user. To accomplish this, CANoe has a multiple desktop environment that allows for less clutter and grouping of similar tasked windows. The demo configurations included with CANoe take full advantage of this feature.
How can I create different desktop views?
To change your desktop settings, right-click on any blank space in the current desktop. This will bring up the desktop context menu.

From this menu you can add a new desktop, delete a desktop, move desktops, change the activation methods for each desktop and insert Panels into your configuration.
How do I move from one desktop to another?
There are many methods of accomplishing this:
- Click on the desired desktop tab.
At the bottom of the main CANoe window is a set of tabs (by default) that list the name of each desktop. Simply click on the desired tab and that desktop will be displayed.
- Select the desktop from the context menu.
Right-click on any open area of the current desktop and move your cursor over Activate desktop. This will pop-up a secondary menu with a list of all the desktops in the configuration. Now just click on the desired desktop.
- Use the Desktop bar.
By default, the Desktop bar is not active. To activate this bar, right-click on any open area of the desktop and select Desktop bar. This will add the Desktop bar to the menu bar of the CANoe main window. To change desktops, click on the desired desktop.
