ContactSelect File, Associate Database, click Add, navigate and select your desired database, click Open, click OK.
With a database associated, many changes happen within the tool:
- Defined message ID's now have a symbolic name
- Signals appear in the trace window
- Signals with an associated value table have symbolic text instead of Hex value
- Messages can be inserted into G and IG blocks by right-click
- Signals can be manipulated in IG block
- Signals can be added to the Graphic window
- Waveform Generator links Symbolic data to Identifier
- Data Window can display CAN message and signal data in addition to BUS statistics data
- Messages and signals in CAPL can be added by right-click and select instead of typing them in
- Panels can be created and used with Signals association
Database files have the extension .DBC.
