Flash Bootloader FlexRay Communication Stack


The FlexRay Flash Bootloader contains a FlexRay-Stack for the communication with the Flash-Tool.

In case the full flexibility of the FlexRay communication is needed, it is recommended to use the Vector FlexRay-Stack called MICROSAR FR. The stack has been developed according to the AUTOSAR specifications and is available for many controllers. The efficient implementation of all AUTOSAR Basic Software Modules (BSW) included in MICROSAR FR allows a high flash performance. The Vector Flash Bootloader can also be integrated with any other AUTOSAR FlexRay-Stack.

However, to save runtime and memory, it is recommended to integrate the optimized Vector FlexRay-Stack in the FlexRay Flash Bootloader. The optimized stack contains only the functionality needed for flashing.

Both Vector FlexRay-Stacks contain the AUTOSAR FlexRay Transport Protocol and are fully configurable with the MICROSAR Configuration Tool GENy using a FIBEX-database.



With the AUTOSAR FlexRay Transport Protocol the FlexRay Flash Bootloader can offer typically 6 times higher flash performance on FlexRay than on CAN. To achieve the best download rates a special attention has to be paid to the design of the FlexRay schedule, the length of the transport frames dedicated to the flash process and the Flash Bootloader configuration.
