Prototyping on WIN-32 hardware

If you generate code using Real-Time Workshop, the Vector ‘XCP Target’ may be used. From the code, an EXE is generated that can also be measured and calibrated via XCP. Any PC with a WIN-32 operating system may be used as the hardware platform. This represents an economical rapid prototyping system. Of course, the PC on which CANape is running could also be used as a runtime environment. Unfortunately, the structure of the WIN-32 operating system does not allow generation of events with cycle times under 10ms.

Rapid Prototyping Hardware:

Real-time capable rapid prototyping hardware need not be expensive. Economical strategies may be implemented, such as:

To set up a tool chain from the many hardware solutions available on the market that can be made OEM-independent you should now use the standardized calibration protocol XCP.
